Short Film Overview (Right Place)







Right Place
 Right place is a Japanese short film that on YouTube by Future Shorts. It is a comedic story of an store worker whose obsession for neatness leads to a sudden change.

SOUND:
  • The whole film was non diegetic but did contain a few short sentences towards the end of the film
  • There is ambient sound when he is moving things on the shelf which emphasises on the movement of object and makes it looks more real
  • The backing track throughout the film connotes the whole purpose of the film which is of a man having OCD therefore the technical music has relevant the film.
  • The post synchronised voiceover to connote his mood
SHOTS:
  • Big close ups to emphasis on certain scenes and objects which is very powerful visual.
  • Macro photography
  • Fast cutting rate to outline his bust day
NARRATIVE:
  • A day in his life- from his breakfast to work. this allows us to see his daily routine how everything is very orderly.
  • Action climax was him pulling the girls socks up which made her think that he was a pervert, then the security think he was raping the young girl.
  • This incident results in him getting fired
  • Resolution becoming a bone setter, putting things in the right place which fits the name of the short film and his character.
